Transferring Ownership of a Registered Animal

To transfer ownership of a previously registered animal, fill in, on the front of the registration papers, the date of sale, plus the name(s) and address of the new owner(s) and sign the papers where indicated. Then, send those registration papers, plus the appropriate transfer fee, to the Secretary so that the transfer can be officially completed and the NACFA database brought up to date. For the complete NACFA fee structure click here. For registration rules click here.

Please note! If lambs are sold before registration is actually made, the new owner’s name goes on the front of the certificate, and the fee for transfer AND the fee for registration will both be charged. (NACFA rule 5.c)
